P139-14 began with a conviction: every person carries God-given worth, purpose, gifts, and possibility.
Our mission
P139-14 exists to help people with disabilities or learning differences across every stage of life know and believe that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by creating pathways for lifelong learning, practical growth, faith, friendship, wellness, confidence, and meaningful opportunity.
Why this work matters
Transitions involving school, work, family support, caregiving, and aging can bring fragmented resources, reduced social connection, transportation barriers, and uncertainty about what comes next. P139-14 is being built to support continued learning and belonging while honoring each person as a whole person—not a diagnosis, label, test score, age, or perceived limitation.
Our commitments
- Honor the God-given worth and individuality of every person.
- Use age-appropriate, respectful communication; speak to adults as adults and reject infantilization, stereotypes, and deficit-only thinking.
- Center each person’s voice, choices, privacy, consent, and autonomy, with appropriate parent or guardian involvement and safeguarding for minors.
- Build with accessibility, clarity, safety, and practical participation in mind.
- Practice faith with humility, never through pressure, shame, or promises of healing.
- Welcome families, caregivers, educators, faith communities, and community partners as supportive participants.
- Be honest about what is available now and what is still being developed.
The Story Behind Our Logo
The emblem brings together community, heritage, faith, and the lifelong possibility within every person. Each element carries meaning:
- Community and belonging. The connected figures represent people with disabilities or learning differences across life stages within a community of families, caregivers, educators, churches, professionals, and supporters. Each person remains distinct while belonging within the larger community.
- Heritage and forward movement. The central gold Tikar symbol honors Cameroon Tikar and African heritage, identity, dignity, and cultural belonging. The upward gold movement represents continued learning, growth, faith, opportunity, and forward movement.
- Strength and faith. The triangle represents strength and stability. Its upward point directs attention toward God. Its three sides represent body, mind, and spirit and honor the Holy Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- Color and promise. Teal represents dignity, trust, wellness, and belonging. Gold represents divine worth, purpose, hope, and light. The complete emblem reflects Psalm 139:14 and the belief that every person is fearfully and wonderfully made.
